May 9 | 15:45 - 18:30h | TU Delft

At its core Open Science, such as Open Access and Open Education, involves a commitment to adopting practices and sharing resources openly, which goes against long instilled notions of monitizing our knowledge. On 9 May opportunities around open business models were discussed in relation to the TU Delft Open & Online Education Program among a selected group of participants. Willem van Valkenburg (manager Production & Delivery at the Open & Online education program and board member of the international Open Education Consortium) offered a short introduction into Open Education. After a short introduction on business models from Mark de Reuver (Associate Professor at TPM and leader of our MOOC X-series Business Model Innovation), Paul Stacey (Creative Commons) presented opportunities of business models based on open content, based on a series of case studies around the world.
Mark van Huystee summarised the session in another Open Sketch.
